CERTIFIED SCHOOL NURSE

Responsibilities: Make health-related educational recommendations for students with individualized education plan (IEPs) or 504 plans per ISBE guidelines, participate in a variety of meetings and interdisciplinary teams for gathering, conveying, and/or sharing information on students' health needs, service delivery, and education programs. Administer first aid and specialized medical treatments, assist with mandated screensings (vision, dental, hearing), asses situations for student safety and other related issues. Contact parents to advise them on changes in students health, collaborate with building RNs and district lead nurse, collaborate with parents, students, and health carfe providers, foster and maintain students; confidential files and records, properly maintain medications to adhere to the district mediciation policies and procedures, and perform replated duties as assigned.
