Attention Interventions

Tangible

Access to tangibles is:  the student’s desire to access a specific item or activity.  

Your student is likely attempting to gain access to preferred tangibles if he/she:

  • Does not accept “no” and instead displays a problem behavior

  • Displays a problem behavior when requested to transition from one activity to the next

  • Displays a problem behavior when unable to obtain the desired item or participate in an activity similar to that of another peer.

  • Takes items from others that do not belong to the student.
